Jing Tonifying Porridge and The Great Blue Heron

Hi Sacred Backyard Readers! This porridge recipe I am going to share with you is super vital.  Fall is here in the beautiful Northern California Mountains and I have been enjoying some amazing walks along the river. Instead of snow fall its leaf fall for now and many days of the week I am greeted by the Great Blue Heron perched on a rock in the river.  My connection with the heron has been going on for over a year now and its a really special one.  It’s a bit of a story so I will save it for another post.  I also have been visited by the snake medicine, owls, a lady bug; this amazing totem literally crawled up next to me on the couch while I was listening to an Eckart Tolle video, how serendipitous.  And of course the blue jays sing and make their presence well known here.

The Heron’s Sacred Pond

Nature loves to be seen for its true essence and nature is a place where we can all feel secure, held and inspired if we are present to its sacredness. The Great Blue Heron is such an auspicious and potent medicine for me.  The heron symbolizes having one foot in the manifest word and one in the unmanifest realm. The form realm and formless realm. It is a great reminder to live up to what we are, Human Beings. Human is the form aspect and the Being is the formless aspect that truly grounds us into the here and now and connects to the flow of life.

The 80/20 Principle is a great one to apply here. If we put 80% of our attention into being, literally feeling our true nature through presence and 20% attention on our goals and tasks in life we allow the great primordial intelligence to flow through us and create lives of deeper meaning and purpose.

So as the fall has set in I am enjoying warm porridge before my walk, which is jing building and anti-inflammatory too.

First: Make your coconut mylk, i choose coconut over any nut mylk b/c it is anti-inflammatory and really does not have a high omega 6 ratio like nuts which can create inflammation.   So there a couple ways to do the coconut mylk; 1. you could buy young thai coconuts and blend them with water then heat that on the stove until warm. I add stevia and sea salt to taste and hold the coconut water for making kefir. Or pick up some organic coconut cream. Mine comes in a little box.  Its so delicious and all you need to do is blend it with 3 or 4 cups of hot water.

Note: If you are using fresh coconuts utilize the coconut water to make kefir and opt to just use fresh water in your porridge and sweeten with stevia to keep this ketogenic, especially earlier in the day you don’t want to spike insulin.  If you can not find thai coconuts go to the freezer section and see if they carry organic young thai coconut meat. Or sometimes you can get pure og coconut cream and make mylk from that if need be.

Next: Grind 2 tablespoons of flax seeds and set aside. These are high in omega 3 and great for reducing inflammation keeping your fatty acids in balance(as are the chia seeds that make up the most of your porridge). Put the desired amount of chia seeds in your mylk that’s warming on the stove. If I am making two portions I usually do about 1/2 cup chia as it will swell up a good bit. Now let the chia start to swell and stir, add the ground flax. Chia-pudding-2

Then: Once its warm to the touch and the chia seeds have swelled up a bit pour into bowls. Top with Jing tonifying Goji Berries and a few fresh pomegranate seeds. Fatty acids from this breakfast are also jing tonifying and this supports a ketogenic body ecology diet approach. These fats are so healthy for the brain and give our kidneys nourishment.

Lastly: Top with fresh organic cinnamon to seal the matrix of the the porridge allowing our organs to test on to the food. Enjoy in presence. Love!

Revive Your Soul…..

Some of the best times I remember growing up, are the memories of my sister and I foraging for wild blackberries on a hot summer day in Western Pennsylvania. We would get dressed in long sleeves and pants to protect us from the thorns and bugs. Each of us carried a basket and would fill it affectionately with those berries. The big, plump, black ones that would whisper to us, they were indeed ready for a cold soak in some raw cream delivered by the milk man:) Yes we had a local milk man that delivered straight to the front door and those berries got to swim in a bowl of fresh cream from a glass bottle. As we sat next to each other at the big wooden table we would count our blackberries one by one.

After a snack like that we would be back out on the land exploring the neighbors blueberry patches, playing near the stream, or doing whatever our imagination’s conjured up. Our imaginations were a part of what made our childhood the best one ever.

Mom would yell loud from the front stoop it was time to come in for dinner and some how we always heard her call from wherever we were.

Our days were filled with streams, rivers, walking next to the train tracks at Uncle Jeff’s mountain home, chasing the river to the waterfall, playhouses, neighboring farms and soulful journeys.

The innocence, sensitivity, beauty, enthusiasm, purity and playfulness the soul seeks gives deep nourishment to our lives.  As adults it is what brings about the conscious return to innocence.  We then complete our journey & seal the matrix.

What is it you did as a child that made you light up? Bring that back to your reality however you can.

For me it is being with nature, the sounds of nature, the beauty of nature, the magick of nature. I find myself now living near a river, waterfall, train tracks and near some of the best spring water a girl could ask for. Living in a small town with big dreams is a joy for the soul and it offers so much. It allows us to see the small details of life yet accomplish our biggest dreams. The stillness a small town offers us let’s us get into a feeling state to revive and nourish the soul, it draws in the most extraordinary and mundane of individuals giving it character and grace. It is a writer’s inspiration.

The train that rolls through allows for so many eccentric, transient individuals to pass through. The other day two kids came through town with their instruments. They started  playing out front of the old theater at 7 in the morning rocking out giving the town character.  The conversations I had with them were inspirational and full of wonder.

Other days I here live, soulful Jazz from the courtyard a block away. Time for a walk down to the free concert and a little dancing for the soul in us all. Oh the wonder of a small town.

There is a little cafe that sits across the street from my window.  It is only open 4 days a week (maybe something more businesses could adopt to save their souls:)), but there is something about the days they are open that is fun to watch.  The fresh greens  and chantrelle’s are brought in from a local forager, the owner sharing his unique gifts to serve the community, the trucks dropping off goods from around the area, travelers from all over the world making reservations to dine at this hidden gem.

Whatever it is that nourishes your soul go do that and watch as it becomes super charged fulfilling its’ purpose and mission in life. Let your soul shine as it is what requires the healing..the body always follows suit. Activate your Super Senses, let your soul be the guide. Revive the Soul.

Mastering the Art of Digestion

Digest with an Inner Smile!

I was inspired to write a short post on the power of digesting.  We are speaking of digesting our nutrients but also our lives. These concepts go hand in hand in my book. I am not here to talk about enzymes or hydrochloric acid pills to help with your digestion. And certainly not heart burn pills or anti acids..no way jose:)   What I want to talk to you about is how to reclaim your power to digest powerfully. I want you to take your awareness to your belly right now with out any judgement. Is your belly clenched? Are you having long slow deep belly breaths as you invest quality time here in the Sacred Backyard? I want you to get in  touch with what is happening in your belly region.  Our stomach point is actually in that lowest point of the rib cage in our center.  The stomach point often test weak in clients and this is due to many different factors that we shall save for another post. For now let’s travel further down to the large intestine, these points are on either side of your belly button.  Here we can start to let the muscles relax and take some deep belly breaths. Now we are starting to soften up here so that as food comes down it will ultimately digest properly leaving nutrients to be absorbed and waste to be excreted in the bowel movements shortly there after.

As we bring more awareness to this area we really can start to see how it relates to our emotions and thoughts. When we sit in meditation we are often way more aware of the belly breath. What about when we are in traffic or going thru something stressful? Often the belly is tightening up to some degree and it takes our consciousness to become more still and aware to  what is happening inside us.  What are we thinking and feeling while we are eating? Are we engaging in other activities while eating?  Being present while eating assists us to maintain connection with our bodies and our minds so that we can be in a place of peace while eating.

What about exercises that can help us with digesting more powerfully? We can do some really amazing belly yoga, here is what you can do:

  1. Stand with your legs shoulder with apart and bend slightly to put your hands on your thighs.
  2. Next take a big belly breath and let all the air out letting the belly hollow out.
  3. Once this happens you can begin to pump the stomach up near the rib cage.
  4. Do this a few times then take a big breath in again and continue for several rounds.
  5. Do this on an empty stomach  or 2 or more hours after a meal.

Giving our stomachs a well deserved break is also an incredible way to re-build your own hcl levels and let the stomach and organs process the foods coming in.  You do this with your weekly water fast, it gives the body time to process things and gives us greater connection to our body parts. It can also give us more mindful awareness as we eat. Speaking of another option is to exist on blended foods for a time. I love to do this, it gives me pleasure and great joy to utilize my energy in other creative ways instead of digesting a large meal. We can also skip breakfast and drink lots of fresh clean water with lemon or raw fermented apple cider vinegar. We can make an herbal tea and around mid morning our digestive fire has begun to wake up ready to assimilate.  Here we might do some liquid or blended nutrition. Lunch is our biggest meal and waiting until true hunger is upon us helps to make sure digestive juices are ready to process the foods. The Apple Cider Vinegar also assists us with producing hydrochloric acid in our bellies. This could be sipped slowly with the meal or in b/t meals too.

Hot peppers are a great way to build internal heat in the body if you are eating living foods, I like to mix them into my morning smoothie or green juice. Juicing habanero peppers is amazing. Adding cayenne pepper to your lemon water is a great way to get circulation flowing and once again build internal heat.

Chinese herbs can also build internal heat. Ginseng & Longan are great fro activating the Qi and tonifying the spleen.

When we are digesting our food well we are often digesting our life well, we are taking responsibility for our life and then assimilating that which serves us and letting go of that which does not.

Living on Life Food

A few weeks ago I embarked on my Spring  Liver Gallbladder Flush and this time I utilized the work of genius Dr. David Jubb to faciliate a deeper flush.  He was the one of the many pioneers that coined the words “Life Food”.   I am so inspired to share the work of Dr. David Jubb here because he has been an inspiration to so many people along the health path.    If you are inspired to learn from the master himself please do. A Shaman, top Natural Lifestyler,  neurobehavioral physiologist, microspocist, a blood formation specialist and an expert in nutrition  Dr. Jubb has a deep innerstanding of the human life form. Some of his teachings are pretty deep in Science if you like that kinda thing, if not you can still get A LOT from his concepts and the Life Food Recipe Book.  Otherwise check out plenty of his talks on line.

Blending my Life Soup.

He recommends eating only foods that would grow in the wild and to stay away from hybrid starchy foods that are only grown for mass production. These would include things like carrots, dates & bananas which cause run away sugars in the system and ultimately cause challenges in the liver.  He recommends doing a 2 week Life Food fast which consists of blended foods and a series of liver gallbladder flushes during the 2 week phase. You can find his work online and purchase any of his books to assist you with the cleanse. The Life Food Recipe Book was of great assistance to me. You can also contact me for guidance with the program.  I love liquid nutrition so it was a joy for me to create recipes from his life food book and then begin to create my own blended liquid light after I got the hang of his concepts.  The blended foods he suggest are very sustaining due to most of them being blended as whole foods so the fiber is intact. I was always quite full after a small bowl of Life Soup.  I thoroughly enjoyed creating these soups daily along with Sprouted nut mylks, electrolyte lemonade w/ superfoods added, green vegetable juices and fermented beverages.

So what are the benefits of Life Food?

1. For one it is great for anyone with digestive issues as the food is blended giving the digestive tract a much needed break.

2. It wakes up dormant DNA

3. Improves cellular function and rejuvenates the cell structure.

Step 2: Fill the blender with the juice and then add in seasonal greens like cilantro, wild dandelion greens, wild grass (its growing everywhere around you) red bell pepper, miso paste, turmeric, pink salt, habanero pepper, avocado, sea veggies, nutritional yeast and a handful of soaked sprouted pumpkin seeds..for the zinc!.

Step 3: Blend and serve. Top with slices of sun-dried tomato, avocado or spirulina powder. I also love to add a superfood powder that Dr. Marshall makes called Premier Tomato Concentrate.  It is mineral rich and great to add to foods if you are not foraging wild foods daily. Wild foods give us more independence, more love and more truth inside ourselves! Eat more of those and Eat Less dense foods to feel & look your best.

The liver and gallbladder flushing is something you can incorporate inside the 2 week blended food lifestyle. I enjoyed doing both a liver and gallbladder flush (the difference being how much oil you consume for each).

Spring has sprung and most of us have had the gut feeling to cleanse our mind, bodies and spirits in some fashion. It is also the full moon which can empower us more to give us strength to move forward with these decisions. Sage the Great Healer.

I wanted to connect with you today about the incredible power of Sage. This herb is an incredible purifier and I recommend several different uses for it. If you have potent ways to utilize this medicine please do share in the comments below.

Lately I have been listening to the call of this miraculous herb. It has found its way into our home in several facets. For one I named our house after it.  It is a beautiful reminder that this home is one of pure intentions and vibrations.  It is a sacred home to create from. What is the name of your home? What could you name your home so that every time you spoke it, it inspired you in some way?

So, a few months back I was up in Ojai, CA with some friends whom had harvested a bunch of local Sage.  We ended up making sage sticks out of it on our trip to Santa Cruz.  This Sage is a wonderful home & spirit purifier. I utilize these sage sticks to cleanse the entrances of the home, the rooms, doorways and any one inside the home.  I feel the healing effects and as I walk the parameters of the house I enjoy saying a prayer that all good spirits abide here and only those of the MOST HIGH dwell here.

Other Medicinal Uses of Sage,

Next I like to create a steamed decoction of dried sage or you can use essential oil of Sage for this. Simply put 3 drops of HI-FI Sage Oil in a glass pot and then pour some boiling spring water over the oil. Put a large towel over your head and inhale the vapors.  This will clean out the lungs and the folds of the lungs. One of the most potent medicines for the lungs.  We breathe in many bacterias and viruses and Sage is one of the most potent ways to clear mucus and other impurities.  This method also gives you a Sage Facial.  You can also let the Sage simmer so that the home is filled with its healing essence.

Next, enjoy Sage in your Himalayan Crystal Salt Inhaler to continue to purify the lungs. You can purchase a salt inhaler on line or at your health food store. Add a couple drops of Sage Essential Oil to the crystals and enjoy clean air on a plane, in the car or even just have it around the house. I like to keep it out and utilize it during breath work.

I also grow Sage, well I guess it wouldn’t quite be “The Sage House” without growing it here right?  I enjoy taking some of the fresh herb and mincing it into salads and making hot tea with it. It’s truly potent and yummy!  You can even create a cultured seed or nut cheese and infuse the mixture with sage.  It makes for a quite decadent and sophisticated cheese plate! Serve along side a glass of Coconut water Kefir Champagne or Jun!

Sage is a remedy for colds, fevers and respiratory infections. It is quite powerful for the treatment of nervous system challenges and digestive issues too. It has been uses for excessive uterine bleeding and for the reversing of gray hairs. In fact the list of remedies go on and on for this herb.

Sage Essential oil is enjoyable to wear as a natural perfume. I have found it to be similar to vetiver in its grounding qualities. You can find both of these essential oils here: Living Libations

The Magical Properties of Spring Water

Over this past holiday (holy day) season I had the joyous experience of kayaking and swimming in a fresh spring water fed river. It was one of the most fulfilling experiences. Not only was I able to jump out and swim around the clear blue waters at any moment, but I was surrounded by the serenity of nature and a few family members as we traveled the river banks.

Those of you whom enjoy harvesting spring water or whom live near springs are familiar with the beauty, the magic and the healing properties that spring water holds.  The new Aquarian Age is upon us and the best way to nourish your cells is to harvest your own spring water. It is truly outside of the matrix and is the foundation of our lives, whether you must drive several hours or it is in your backyard well it is an important first step in true health.

Why you might ask? For many reasons, one of them being the water holds a superior electrical charge compared to other water.  It is running under the earth untouched by man or pollutants.  The water has the signature of the earth’s wisdom. It is natural, cleansing and nourishing.  Water takes on memory as you have seen in Dr. Emoto’s work. So, if we are drinking tap water or using it in anyway we are assuming responsibility for the imprint it has taken on, thus bringing it into our own bodies.   The best thing to do once you have brought yourself to this truth is to seek out a spring.

Wild Water

Spring water has the ability to re-mineralize the tissues of the body and provide a magical healing effect on us as hydration is gained. Because the water is naturally structured thru a vortex motion it hydrates the cells flushing, regulating and cleaning the cells.  After 7 days of drinking nothing but spring water the body’s fluids are now replenished and we have re-set the fluids.  As the body gains true hydration it can come alive in a way that may have not been achieved before. The acid wastes & calcification begin to flush out of the body and a new clean innocent perception can come through.  The body’s electrical charge is strengthened and if you were to test the bio-field of the body with kinesiology you might find the energetic field around the body is increasing in strength.

This week I am headed out to harvest spring water from a local spring. I will share the video below.  The magical properties of spring water are for you to find as you experience it for yourself. What does it do for your overall well being, your consciousness, your state of mind? For me gives me a sense of true freedom, liberation, health and joy in my heart. It gives me peace of mind knowing I am self sufficient in hydrating myself.

When you collect spring water watch the natural vortex that occurs as it pumps out from the earth, this alone allows the water to clean itself. I prefer to gather water from a very cold spring with a moderately low tds (total dissolved solids) and one that has been tested for contaminants.  Below is a video from today’s spring water harvest out at Lake Hemet, CA.  Just watch as the water freely pours out and seeks to hydrate us on a cellular level! How to Have a Healthy Pregnancy.

Birthing a child is a sacred journey & doing it with noble intentions  is a wonderful gift to give a child.

In this blog we will go over some things that could benefit the child and mother in the time prior to conception as well as during pregnancy.

If you plan enough a head of time you can work to clean the body out and rebuild healthy tissues and intestinal flora. A way to approach this would be a year or so before having a child utilizing the techniques shared here in the backyard blog.  Some of these cleansing and rebuilding techniques are:

  • Meditate and create a powerful purified state of being.
  • A Guided Green Vegetable Juice & Water Fast
  • Probiotic supplementation coupled with Cultured Foods
  • Flush and Cleanse the Bowels & Liver/Gallbladder respectively.
  • Detoxing heavy metal load thru zeolite and the cleanse shared within the blog
  • Shifting the diet to a high living plant based lifestyle with discernment
  • Adding in Wild foods and/or Superfoods to produce a thriving environment.

These are just a few ideas, reviewing the blog posts and going with your own guided intuition is best.

How you choose to birth your child is up to you. I have friends that birthed their children at home in the bath tub, with dolphins in Hawaii and in a hospital setting. Whatever you choose is perfect.

Although I have not had any children my intention is to one day do so and so this information is what I have gathered from some of the best sources I could find.

So, lets talk about the ideal internal environment. As soon as a child is conceived that child can hear and feel our thoughts and actions. It listens to your words and so things are brought into he/she’s consciousness in the womb. Belief’s are actually implanted into the child’s consciousness at this time whether negative or positive. So just being aware of this and doing your best will be of crucial importance. In the work I do with emotional repolarization often I find people’s negative belief’s stem back to the womb and even from past lives. The good news is it can be repolarized.

Next lets take a look at ways to keep the body healthy through out the pregnancy. Checking the first morning’s urine PH is foundational. Keeping this in the 6.4-7.0 range will be crucial to ensure a thriving baseline.  Next we want to make sure our water intake is abundant. So, if you are not already consuming 1/2 your body weight in ounces then work your way up weekly by adding a bit more in each day.  If this is not done gradually you will just being urinating frequently instead of absorbing the water.  Drinking plenty of high quality water will create a healthier and easier pregnancy.

Some women go through morning sickness. If a woman has ever been on birth control the body loses its ability to create Vitamin B6. This causes the bile salts to lose suspension in the gallbladder.  Even if they have only been on birth control for a month it causes a vitamin B6 dependency.  Supplementing with the end form chain of B6 will cause wonders for morning sickness.

Something else that can assist the body with nausea  is addressing the imbalance within the adrenal & spleen power chain. As the spleen makes cells for the baby it requires nutrition support. Something that often remedies this is adding about 4 soaked and sprouted brazil nuts into the livity (opposite of DIEt). What I have seen is that this essentially turns the adrenal points on helping to even out symptoms of morning sickness.  Things that will fry the adrenals are caffeinated drinks of any kind, when caffeine is removed magnesium levels are often restored although stress can contribute to magnesium deficiency as well.

Another key note is to make sure the body can uptake iron & tyrosine in its absorbable form. These nutrients are crucial for the baby and mother. How do we do this? One thing is if the body has ever been exposed to white flour or sugar often times rock forms of iron have begun to build up on the liver.  When this happens it makes it challenging to uptake real iron from foods. Here we would start eating about 4-6 soaked unsulphured organic apricots per day. Essentially the idea is that the apricots are like antagonists to the rock iron removing it from the body to make room for natural iron. Obviously removing the cause goes with out saying.  Eating apricots for about 6-12 weeks prior to pregnancy is best and if this doesn’t work some type of adrenal support herbs would be best. The adrenals require a good quality pink salt daily, so enjoy it on your foods.

Beyond this getting adequate amounts of essential fatty acids from quality fats such as avocado, coconut oil, ice pressed olive oil and a plant based supplement of DHA will ensure the child does not have ear challenges & keeps stretch marks at bay for the mother & is foundational for a growing fetus.

In order to get the right minerals a good form of coral calcium or a powerful superfood greens mix will do the trick here.  This coupled with end chain B vitamins especially folic acid  are crucial for DNA & RNA synthesis.

A quality Multi-vitamin from live sourced nutrients is a must and live source iodine supplementation is a staple whether or not a woman is pregnant or not. This keeps the thyroid, breasts & uterus strong and healthy.

For the best nutrient rich mother’s milk enjoy a clean, high quality nutritional yeast.  2-4 tablespoons a day will produce an abundant supply of mother’s milk that is nutrient dense. This will give the baby true satiety.  Dr. Marshall did this with his own kids and the results were that the kids slept straight through their first night and there after!

Other side notes about lifestyle would be that if you are still wearing underwire bras transition out of them. This cuts off circulation and lymph drainage.  Switch to undershirts, cloth only bra or if that is not an option go with plastic instead of wire.

Getting quality cellular movement is a great thing for keeping the health of the body during pregnancy.  Enjoy a massage, a bath and plenty of grounding to the earth.

Liquid Nutrition & Living Food Recipes

These recipes came through today and I trust you will enjoy it as much as I have. I will post them up at the Ital Kitchen and Buddha Bar as well. I thought they deserved an article since we just got over discussing heavy metals. They are all great during heavy metal chelation.

Ital Juice

1 Bunch Dandelion Greens  -Blood builder and Cleaner, Liver detoxifier

1 Large Organic Cucumber -Kidney cleanser

1 piece of a fresh Habanero Pepper- circulation/anti-viral/anti-parasitic

1 piece fresh ginger root- circulation-warming

A few pieces of celery with leaves -excellent natural salt solution

1 Green Apple – tastey and less sugar for those concerned with glycemic index, apples are great at softening gall stones.

1 bunch Cilantro – heavy metal chelation

1 whole Lemon – astringent – cleanser – anti-bacterial

Press all ingredients thru a Cold Press Juicer and enjoy!  Let this cleanse and nourish the blood.

Dodhisattva’s Raw Vegan Cheese Crumble

1 part EFA Oil or oil of choice

3 parts nutritional yeast (make sure its from a reputable source..I use Premier Research Labs)

4-5 cloves of fresh garlic pressed

1 tsp or so of Apple Cider Vinegar …Lemon will also work

! pinch Pink Salt

1/2 handful of Fresh Parsley

In a small dish combine the oil and nutritional yeast until you have a rich paste. If it’s too runny add more nutritional yeast and vice versa if it’s too thick.  Now add the pink salt, acv and garlic. Mix well. Mince parsley and incorporate into the cheese.  Use this as a wonderful source of b vitamins and protein. Crumble into salads, use on endive tacos and enjoy on dehydrated bread/crackers. Its fabulous and so nourishing. I will post a pic of this one soon!

Ital Tacos with Cultured Cashew Cream Cheese

1 bunch Endive

2 large handfuls of spring greens or wild greens of choicephoto

1 bunch sunflower sprouts

Handful of Chlorella Tablets

Vegan Garlic Cheese Crumble  (Homemade by Dodhisattva..see Ital Kitchen for Recipe).

1 tbs. Spirulina

1/2-3/4 cup cultured vegetables

1 tbs Kelp flakes

2 tsp. Premier EFA’s Oil or Cold Pressed oil of your choice -pumpkin or chia would work well here

2 shakes of raw organic apple cider vinegar

1 pinch of pink salt

First get a large bowl and put the greens in it as well as the sprouts chopped up or just gently rip apart with hands. Now take the oil, pink salt and apple cider vinegar and massage into the salad greens. Now add the spirulina and kelp flakes, use a fork to further incorporate. Add in your cultured vegetables and Dodhisattva’s vegan garlic cheese crumble. Now take endive and tear off each piece to cover a large plate or platter. Next top each endive with the mixture. Sprinkle Chlorella tablets on top of each taco.

Then on the side prepped in advance create a cultured cream cheese. Do this buy soaking and blending cashews with probiotics. Add paprika and other seasoning to taste. Let sit out to culture for several hours. Place a bit of the cheese on a spoon for each guest. I like this as a side note so that the main star of the meal are the greens however the cashew dip is heavenly.

This is a wonderful meal and can help chelate the metals.  It also gives us access to bioavailable protein thru the vegan crumble, chlorella, greens and spirulina as well.m  The cultured vegetables are an incredible source of probiotics for the health of the stomach.

Nourish Thy Self.

Nourishing thy self is an inside job. Then the manifestation is seen in the outer world.

If you have ever experienced the feelings of self criticism, judgement or resentment then this post might just be for you.  Who has not gone through these feelings at one point or another?  Is it our fault? Placing blame on ourselves or others doesn’t do much good rather the question to ask might be, how can I feel better, how can I change my route in life to a better one?  Well, this question puts the power back into your own hands, this allows you to be the Creator and the Director of your life experience.  This allows you to hold yourself accountable for what you choose to think, feel, say and do. This also holds you accountable for what you put on and into your body.images

In order to experience self nourishment we start from the inside out. We clear away the debris, we might sit in meditation, we might embark on a body cleanse, we might start reading a great book about Self Love and Acceptance. Whatever it is we must take responsibility for the way we treat ourselves.  As we begin to trust ourselves with self love and respect we begin to experience more trust in all its forms. First, we must trust ourselves knowing we speak highly and think highly of our actions, our body, our thoughts. If we make a mistake or do something that we are not happy with we can make adjustments and move forward.  To nourish ourselves with nutrient rich foods, to move our bodies and stretch them in ways that make our minds flexible and spines timeless, and to clean up our environment and make our living space harmonious and joyous are all profound ways to shift our lives into Self Respect & Nourishment.

Buddha & Me

When we nourish ourselves with food that we know deep down are healing and restorative to our body we are practicing a form of self love and respect.   We are giving ourselves nutrient rich food so we can become more powerful, more radiant, more dynamic and more of our true identity. I have mentioned in past posts how incredible it is too forage and eat wild edibles because I feel it brings back a strength to the body that commercially foods just do not possess.  Wild foods must live and thrive in conditions that are always fluctuating and changing.  They become stronger, wiser and more confident for it.  This is self nourishment.

To me a form of Self Sabotage would be eating things that I know are not nourishing and good for me, self sabotage looks like judging myself for a past mistake or criticizing myself for not being good enough.  All of these things to me are forms of self sabotage. We are influenced by programming from advertising and media on a daily basis.  I feel we can powerfully live in our environment and protect ourselves from these acts.  It does take courage and it certainly does take commitment. And as Yogi Ji says, “Keep up and You Will be Kept Up.”  So, with that said, what can we do to protect ourselves from sabotage? We can practice Yoga and Mantra, we can Meditate, we can learn to eat with conscious awareness, we can speak from our heart instead of our head.  All of these things help us to keep up with the changing times. The Aquarian Age is here, the Age of the Soul.  So we must keep up if we want to experience all the joy and fulfillment that comes with this Age.

images-1When we make the decision to look at ourselves in the mirror and remind ourselves of our great beauty, our magical wonder, our authentic spirit we attract more people into our lives that appreciate us for who we really are.  We magnetize those that we are most in alignment with and so the flow goes….. This is Self Nourishment.

When we choose to clean up our environment , clean up the clutter, care for our belongings  we are living in a state of Self Nourishment.

Choosing to nourish ourselves is the single most important thing we can do for ourselves and for the world.  We can begin to see the power these acts have on our life as we change our thoughts we change our world. Look at the word WORLD, it has WORD in it. We are influenced by the word we choose to speak. Let us start listening to our chosen words.
