Digest with an Inner Smile!

I was inspired to write a short post on the power of digesting.  We are speaking of digesting our nutrients but also our lives. These concepts go hand in hand in my book. I am not here to talk about enzymes or hydrochloric acid pills to help with your digestion. And certainly not heart burn pills or anti acids..no way jose:)   What I want to talk to you about is how to reclaim your power to digest powerfully. I want you to take your awareness to your belly right now with out any judgement. Is your belly clenched? Are you having long slow deep belly breaths as you invest quality time here in the Sacred Backyard? I want you to get in  touch with what is happening in your belly region.  Our stomach point is actually in that lowest point of the rib cage in our center.  The stomach point often test weak in clients and this is due to many different factors that we shall save for another post. For now let’s travel further down to the large intestine, these points are on either side of your belly button.  Here we can start to let the muscles relax and take some deep belly breaths. Now we are starting to soften up here so that as food comes down it will ultimately digest properly leaving nutrients to be absorbed and waste to be excreted in the bowel movements shortly there after.

As we bring more awareness to this area we really can start to see how it relates to our emotions and thoughts. When we sit in meditation we are often way more aware of the belly breath. What about when we are in traffic or going thru something stressful? Often the belly is tightening up to some degree and it takes our consciousness to become more still and aware to  what is happening inside us.  What are we thinking and feeling while we are eating? Are we engaging in other activities while eating?  Being present while eating assists us to maintain connection with our bodies and our minds so that we can be in a place of peace while eating.

What about exercises that can help us with digesting more powerfully? We can do some really amazing belly yoga, here is what you can do:

  1. Stand with your legs shoulder with apart and bend slightly to put your hands on your thighs.
  2. Next take a big belly breath and let all the air out letting the belly hollow out.
  3. Once this happens you can begin to pump the stomach up near the rib cage.
  4. Do this a few times then take a big breath in again and continue for several rounds.
  5. Do this on an empty stomach  or 2 or more hours after a meal.

Giving our stomachs a well deserved break is also an incredible way to re-build your own hcl levels and let the stomach and organs process the foods coming in.  You do this with your weekly water fast, it gives the body time to process things and gives us greater connection to our body parts. It can also give us more mindful awareness as we eat. Speaking of another option is to exist on blended foods for a time. I love to do this, it gives me pleasure and great joy to utilize my energy in other creative ways instead of digesting a large meal. We can also skip breakfast and drink lots of fresh clean water with lemon or raw fermented apple cider vinegar. We can make an herbal tea and around mid morning our digestive fire has begun to wake up ready to assimilate.  Here we might do some liquid or blended nutrition. Lunch is our biggest meal and waiting until true hunger is upon us helps to make sure digestive juices are ready to process the foods. The Apple Cider Vinegar also assists us with producing hydrochloric acid in our bellies. This could be sipped slowly with the meal or in b/t meals too.

Hot peppers are a great way to build internal heat in the body if you are eating living foods, I like to mix them into my morning smoothie or green juice. Juicing habanero peppers is amazing. Adding cayenne pepper to your lemon water is a great way to get circulation flowing and once again build internal heat.

Chinese herbs can also build internal heat. Ginseng & Longan are great fro activating the Qi and tonifying the spleen.

When we are digesting our food well we are often digesting our life well, we are taking responsibility for our life and then assimilating that which serves us and letting go of that which does not.

Living on Life Food

A few weeks ago I embarked on my Spring  Liver Gallbladder Flush and this time I utilized the work of genius Dr. David Jubb to faciliate a deeper flush.  He was the one of the many pioneers that coined the words “Life Food”.   I am so inspired to share the work of Dr. David Jubb here because he has been an inspiration to so many people along the health path.    If you are inspired to learn from the master himself please do. A Shaman, top Natural Lifestyler,  neurobehavioral physiologist, microspocist, a blood formation specialist and an expert in nutrition  Dr. Jubb has a deep innerstanding of the human life form. Some of his teachings are pretty deep in Science if you like that kinda thing, if not you can still get A LOT from his concepts and the Life Food Recipe Book.  Otherwise check out plenty of his talks on line.

Blending my Life Soup.

He recommends eating only foods that would grow in the wild and to stay away from hybrid starchy foods that are only grown for mass production. These would include things like carrots, dates & bananas which cause run away sugars in the system and ultimately cause challenges in the liver.  He recommends doing a 2 week Life Food fast which consists of blended foods and a series of liver gallbladder flushes during the 2 week phase. You can find his work online and purchase any of his books to assist you with the cleanse. The Life Food Recipe Book was of great assistance to me. You can also contact me for guidance with the program.  I love liquid nutrition so it was a joy for me to create recipes from his life food book and then begin to create my own blended liquid light after I got the hang of his concepts.  The blended foods he suggest are very sustaining due to most of them being blended as whole foods so the fiber is intact. I was always quite full after a small bowl of Life Soup.  I thoroughly enjoyed creating these soups daily along with Sprouted nut mylks, electrolyte lemonade w/ superfoods added, green vegetable juices and fermented beverages.

So what are the benefits of Life Food?

1. For one it is great for anyone with digestive issues as the food is blended giving the digestive tract a much needed break.

2. It wakes up dormant DNA

3. Improves cellular function and rejuvenates the cell structure.

4. Gives the body nourishment on the cellular level. Great for those with nutrient deficiencies.

Here is a suggestion below for an incredible Life Food Soup:

Step 1:  Juice Celery, Lemon, Cucumber  (about 3/4-1 pint)

Step 2: Fill the blender with the juice and then add in seasonal greens like cilantro, wild dandelion greens, wild grass (its growing everywhere around you) red bell pepper, miso paste, turmeric, pink salt, habanero pepper, avocado, sea veggies, nutritional yeast and a handful of soaked sprouted pumpkin seeds..for the zinc!.

Step 3: Blend and serve. Top with slices of sun-dried tomato, avocado or spirulina powder. I also love to add a superfood powder that Dr. Marshall makes called Premier Tomato Concentrate.  It is mineral rich and great to add to foods if you are not foraging wild foods daily. Wild foods give us more independence, more love and more truth inside ourselves! Eat more of those and Eat Less dense foods to feel & look your best.

You can do so many variations and it is so fun creating different colors and flavors with these life giving soups.

The liver and gallbladder flushing is something you can incorporate inside the 2 week blended food lifestyle. I enjoyed doing both a liver and gallbladder flush (the difference being how much oil you consume for each).

Spring has sprung and most of us have had the gut feeling to cleanse our mind, bodies and spirits in some fashion. It is also the full moon which can empower us more to give us strength to move forward with these decisions. Stand out in the full moon tonight and get super charged by that full moon.  Your battery will be on power mode!  Spring is truly the beginning of the New Year…as is shared within the Zodiac. Aries is the first sign of the Zodiac so as we re-birth at this time and especially this week we die to our ego now and come back a new being we can feel our life power more profoundly.

The Benefits of the 24 Hour Water Fast

Today we are going to speak about the benefit of the 24 hour  weekly  water fast. water-fasting-fountain-of-youthThe most recognized figure whom lived by this principle was Paul C. Bragg,  of the “Bragg’s Healthy lifestyle”.  His energy, strength, vitality and youthfulness give us clue’s that this is in fact a powerful way to optimize the function of the body. He left his physical body during an accident in his 90’s while surfing.

Although at first it can be a bit challenging as you create this as a weekly practice it becomes a joyous experience allowing you to fully rest and rejuvenate. We are giving our digestive system a break which is one of the best things we can do to improve the overall function of our digestive system and organ system.

When the body is given the time to heal it will do so. Digesting food takes so much life force so in order to allow the body to clean house it requires a break.  Often the belief is to take this product or food to heal the body, however I believe it is what we let go of that heals the body and what we cleanse out of our system that gives us back our radiance.  Expensive supplements can be beneficial however clean the body out first and then see how its vital life force returns without fail. I present you with the miracle of water fasting.

If we want better bowel movements it’s a great idea to water fast.  Each meal we take in should yield a bowel movement shortly there after.   If this is not happening you can be sure food is fermenting, putrifying and going rancid attracting, parasites, yeast, mold and fungus.  Cleaning out the bowels via water fasting will take care of this, simultaneously clearing the mind.

If we want our hormones to be working in harmony with us a water fast also helps to balance these out. If we are bombarded with toxins that mimic hormones we must flush them out. Giving the liver and other organs the opportunity to “catch up” in a sense and expel these toxins will reset the hormones.  A liver flush is also a wonderful adjunct to clearing toxins.

If we want great skin and clear eyes water fasting will give us this. At first there might be blemishes as the accumulated waste begins to flush out of the body but in time the blood and fluids in the body will become cleaner and the organs will function better.  In turn the waste will exit the kidney and bowel not the skin.

After this you can talk to your health practitioner about longer water fasts.  These will often reverse conditions in the body giving you a new lease on life. We are bombarded on a daily basis with toxins in our environment so keeping up thru a detoxification regime will give us a the purity to live our full potential this lifetime.

These longer fasts assist us to release unnecessary weight. When we water fast we are losing fat but also all the chemicals and toxins that were stored in the fat. The reason why so many people can not lose weight effectively is because of the toxins stored in the fat cells. The body is utilizing the fat as a protective measure to store these toxins. It isn’t until we release the toxins through a tool like water fasting that we can fully let go of the unwanted weight.  First and foremost there must be an internal shift in our mind’s eye or a healing that takes place that we no longer feel the need to protect ourselves with extra fat.  Once we adopt a healthy lifestyle of fresh pressed vegetable juices, and a whole food approach we can keep that weight off. Moving the body, communicating with love and forgiveness and keeping up a cleansing regime must be apart of this lifestyle to keep your weight at its natural state. What if someone is intending to gain weight? Water fasting also resets the system for those that are too thin. When the body is too thin it is also in an unbalanced state of dis-ease so fasting will assist to clear the toxins. Enzyme therapy coupled with water fasting can be a powerful approach here.  The enzymes work to go after any viruses or bacteria that might be hindering the immune system from working properly.

  • Choose a day that you can rest as you desire.

  • Get on the earth to receive valuable earth frequencies for hormonal balance and regeneration.
  • Adopt a healthy whole food organic lifestyle prior to the fast so you have fewer detox symptoms.
  • Consider doing a castor oil pack on the large intestine or the liver for 1 hour with infrared heat to assist toxin removal.
  • Prepare & perform a coffee enema if you get a headache. This will assist the liver to flush out these toxins.

The Importance of Proper Food Combining

In order to assimilate and utilize our food for fuel proper food combining is a wonderful tool to guide us. When food is broken down into nutrients with ease in our stomach we can be sure that the digestive tract is able to easily break down food converting it into usable energy.  When proper food combining takes place we know that fats are broken down into fatty acids, carbohydrates are converted into Glucose or usable energy and protein transforms into amino acids. With these building blocks we can build lean, clean, strong bodies. They we are able to build muscle, hair, skin and bones and re-manufacture our own metabolic enzymes and hormones.
If you start to incorporate proper food combining you may notice weight loss, more energy, ease of digestion (no constipation, diarhea or gas/bloating) and an overall sense of well-being.

When foods are improperly combined this allows for food to ferment, putrify, and go rancid. This naturally attracts parasites, yeast mold and fungus.

Three wonderful tools to incorporate in your life in order to properly break down your foods and nourish yourself are to:

The Path to Lasting Wealth and Abundance

I propose that question to you.  What is the path to lasting wealth and abundance? As I journeyed off to the local farmer’s market this morning I was amazed at the abundance of fresh food surrounding me.

Our outer world is directly related to our inner world. Everything is connected. I just recently completed a 21 day juice, coconut kefir water and herbal tea fast supplementing with vitamineral green, chlorella and barley grass powders. I also included wild teas such as nettle, rose hips, chaparal & others.  High quality teas like gynostemma, dandy blend and he shou wu were extremely beneficial in supporting the immune system ( along with chaga tea). The more wild food & mineral rich  our food is the better our body will feel. These substances give our bodies more life and strength.

This fast was a wonderful experience of self growth, commitment, clarity, and a profound knowing that our inner world is directly related to what we experience externally. This holds true for our abundance as well. When we clean out the body and let go of the things that no longer service we  reset the body systems and allow for a healing to take place. If we let the body heal and rejuvenate on it’s own miraculous things happen within our mind, body and spirit. The energy around our body strengthens as well.  I feel like I just hit the reset button on my body.  My mind is very clear and strong. I have lots and lots of energy. At this point I have moved into green smoothies which consist of a little bit of fruit and alot of greens with some water and superfoods. Green smoothies are great way to ease back into food because they are broken down already so little work is done by the digestive system. The miracle of green smoothies is the fiber content and their ability to strengthen our natural hydrochloric acid so we may have the stomach acid to break down our foods properly.  Green smoothies are alkalinizing and are a great way to sweep the intestines after an extended fast. If one has an imbalance in their intestinal flora too much fruit will pose a challenge. It is a good idea to stick to green apples and possibly berries in smoothies otherwise candida can be an issue. A wonderful smoothie recipe for anyone would be something like this:

2 cups coconut kefir water (friendly bacteria)

1 cup of coconut meat

3/4 cup of berries

2 huge bunches of lettuce

1 tbs. barley grass powder – full of Nourishing vitamins including k

1 tsp. chlorella powder – Vital Nutrients and metal chelator – find the best source you can.

Blend all ingredients in your Vitamix and bam you have yourself and award winning super hero smoothie!

So as I went through this cleanse and experienced so many magical moments of synchronicity and inspiration I thought more deeply about the path to lasting wealth and abundance. Many people make money to lose it all shortly there after. Maybe they are not comfortable with the idea of making lots of money. To break through your glass ceiling or your barrier of whatever lies between you and your abundance is something worth pondering.  Abundance to me is to be fulfilling your life’s work, when all of the things required to fulfill your life’s work come into alignment and show up in your reality through people, places, experiences,  & clues this to me is true wealth.

In order to experience long lasting abundance the spiritual laws of money must be recognized and utilized. Another tool to utilize is before taking action be in the right state of mind. If you are feeling good and inspired chances are you are in alignment with your higher self and the Creator. This would be a wise time to take action. By working with energy and magnetism before you take right action things will flow a bit more effortlessly.  More is then accomplished and little effort is required. Optimizing your Digestion

One of the key factors in optimal health is mastering digestion of the foods we put into our bodies.  A few things to note are that as we age our HCL (hydro chloric acid) levels in the stomach weaken. Most people have weak acid levels in the stomach.  If we are partially digesting our food this can cause fermentation in the stomach leading to gas, bloating, weight gain and ultimately more serious degenerative conditions.

Another key role in digestion is a healthy “gut” which means that the ratio to healthy bacteria and unhealthy bacteria is 2:1. When the healthy bacteria is flourishing our immune system is strong and healthy. This creates a healthy and happy brain as the gut and the brain are very connected.

Enzymes also play a key role in the digestion of our foods.  Enzymes are, as Dr. Edward Howell once said, “the spark of life.”  When you see someone whom is rich in enzymes you will see that they are light and bright.  There aura or the energy field around there body is strong, healthy and pure, they heal quickly and have an abundance of energy.

Last but certainly not least our thoughts and the way we relate to our food plays a role in digestion.  This is the most important and if you have any healing to do in your relation to food EFT or Emotional Freedom Technique or  what is also known as “tapping” can also assist in clearing a less than optimal relation with your food. You can easily google or research that subject for more info.

Here are some simple KEYS to increasing your HCL levels, Strengthening the friendly bacteria in your “gut”,  and enriching your body with enzymes.

1. Apple Cider Vinegar (Raw Organic Fermented)- A small dose of this taken before meals will increase the HCL levels in the stomach to assist your body to break down food in the small intestine.

2. Green Smoothies- A smoothie made of half a blender full of organic greens and a small portion of fruit will increase HCL levels in the stomach.

3. If these approaches do not work for you you can also buy HCL derived from beets from Premiere Research Labs.

4. Building the friendly bacteria in your stomach comes with letting go of antibiotics and introducing cultured vegetables to your diet. Cultured vegetables are very important to ensure healthy digestion!  Making your own cultured veggies is fun and cost effective.

5. You can also buy a high quality liquid probiotic to assist the body.  Remember that fermented food is the best way to get your probiotics.

6. Coconut Kefir water is a wonderful fizzy beverage that can be sipped on to heal the stomach. If someone has a history of antibiotics you can be sure the body requires lots of probiotic therapy.

7. Enzymes are available in all raw living foods. So any vegetable or fruit that is left in its natural state is rich in enzymes.
